As many of you know, we have been a husband-and-wife team working and shipping from home for the last 4 years. As both our family (2 beautiful children) and business (thousands of orders a month) grew quickly, it created an impossible shipping situation which led to untimely delays in the past. We want you to know that, due to recent changes, these delays are a thing of the past. Please read on for more information into how we've improved:
Two New Owners
Our first step was bringing in new people to help keep up with the demand. We reached out to some family and found mutual interest from Ray and Jess, our cousins and parents to two as well (twins!). This was, of course, the most important step in addressing the challenges of such a growing business. Their involvement has improved StopAndScrap.com in all facets, such as the following:
New Office
We are officially out of the house and in our first professional office/warehouse! The difference has been staggering. The added space and organization speeds up shipping immensely, and not having to live in a warehouse at home has certainly put us in better moods!
Faster Shipping
As mentioned, the extra space and organization has greatly improved our shipping speed. Even one person can ship approximately twice as fast as before, and with our new partners we have double the manpower shipping as well. All told, we estimate that it improves our shipping capacity 3-4 times! We now regularly ship brand new in stock items within 1 business day or less, and even our immense clearance sales ship in under a week now! The extra space and organization will lead to incredibly fast pre-order shipping times, so no longer will you have to choose between great prices and fast shipping!
Cheaper Shipping
Our increased ability to ship means that we can fulfill more orders faster than ever. This increased business has allowed us to lower our "Free US Shipping" limit from $100 to $50! We're also working on a new model for international shipping, but that will take a bit longer.
Lower Prices
Although we were already known for our excellent pre-order sales, we've managed to do even better this year. Our increased ability to ship has given us the opportunity to promise more sales to our vendors. Many of them have, in turn, offered us significant discounts for increased business. We turn this extra discount right around to you, in the form of cheaper shipping and valuable coupons. Those of you on our mailing list receive a coupon EVERY DAY and our pre-orders have ranged from 10-25% off MSRP so far this season. Combined with our faster shipping, it's a win-win for everybody!
Better Customer Service
Whether you want to change an order or if you are having a problem with the website or shipping damage, you want somebody to help you quickly. In the past this has not been easy, however another benefit to adding two new owners is that we can answer customer service emails in a much more timely manner. Although mistakes and damage are very rare, please know that we WILL take care of these issues immediately if it unluckily happens to you.
